A new generation of microbiological treatments to address climate change and drought in horticultural and woody crops

Limited water availability is one of the main challenges currently facing agriculture, particularly in Mediterranean regions. MiCropBiome is a strategic R&D project focused on developing new microbiological solutions that can help improve plant responses to water stress and other adverse environmental conditions, while promoting more efficient and sustainable use of available resources.

The project brings together DARWIN Bioprospecting Excellence, SEIPASA and IBMCP (UPV-CSIC), combining expertise in bioprospecting, research and technological development to identify and develop microbial solutions with the potential to enhance crop resilience and help maintain productivity in the face of the challenges associated with climate change.

MiCropBiome is a project funded by the Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness and Innovation (IVACE+i), of the Generalitat Valenciana, and the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER).

When science, collaboration and purpose come together, innovation can move from the laboratory to the field, helping to build a more resilient and sustainable agriculture.
