DARWIN has obtained the ISO 9001:2015 certification

During the last few months we have been putting a lot of effort into the implementation of the ISO 9001:2015 quality standard in our company. We are happy to announce that, as from July 2020, DARWIN is certified in ISO 9001:2015 for the isolation and genomic/phenotypic characterization of microorganisms, as well as for the study of environmental microbiomes.

The ISO 9001 quality standard, created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), is the most widely used model for national and international client/supplier relationships. This standard is based on a series of quality management principles that include a strong focus on the client, the motivation and implication of the senior management team, process control and continuous improvement.

The implementation of this quality standard in DARWIN is already proving to be very beneficial. For example, this certification is an opportunity to align the short- and long-term objectives of the company, and to share these objectives with all the employees, boosting their motivation and compromise. On the other hand, one of the main focus points of the ISO 9001 standard is client satisfaction. By obtaining periodic and objective information about the expectations, experiences and opinions of our clients, we will be able to create improved value proposals. Finally, by improving our quality management system, we will be more efficient in the management of our projects, and this will be beneficial for our business process.
